Description
The bottom of the beehive consists of a base and a removable drawer made from food-grade plastic.
The drawer opens from the back of the hive and includes the following features:
- Lower feeder for liquid food with a capacity of 5 liters.
- Removable pollen trap with a 1.4-liter container for collecting pollen.
- Cover above the pollen trap to prevent contaminants from entering the collected pollen.
- Ventilation opening with a mesh, measuring 18 x 15 cm.
Hive entrance with a combined mouse guard, consisting of two elements:
- During the pollen-collection period, element 1 is set to position 1, and element 2 allows periodic blocking of either the two left or two right drone entrances.
- In winter, element 1 is flipped to position 2, and element 2 allows 0 to 7 entrances to remain open for bees to exit the hive
